    • A study was undertaken to reveal the plane section and spatial topology distributions of austenitic grains in a low-carbon steel using the serial section analysis. The relationships between plane section and spatial topology distribution characteristics of grains were determined experimentally. Observations and comparisons were made of the distributions of number of sides of sections of grains with different number of faces as well as those of three geometric grain models.
