    • The mechanism of "white band" and central carbon segregation formation of high-carbon chromium bearing steel concasting billets have been discussed.Comparative tests of metallurgical quality and fatigue property between the concasting steel and ingot casting steel showed that the carbon segregation (wc/wco) in steel produced by concasting process was 0.92~1.10 and the fatigue life of the former steel was equal to that of the latter steel.
