    • physucal-chemistry property of ultra-fine calcinated coal kaolin particle was studied. The reason for ultra-fine calcinated coal kaolin used as basal body of the substitution of titanium dioxide was analysed by the properrty of pigment. The results showed that the properties of high white, high dioptre,low quantity of absorbing linseed oil, high covering ability of ultra-fine calcined coal kaolin are the main reason as the basalbody for the substitution of titanium dioxide. Inaddition,high adsorptive capacity and surface potential of the ultra-fine calcined coal kaolin are beneficial to adsorption of the surface modification ageent on the mineral surface.
