    Thermo-mechanical coupling analysis in the dieless drawing process of NiTi shape memory alloy wires

    • A thermo-mechanical finite element model was established for the developed continuous dieless drawing process equipment by using DEFORM finite element software. The temperature field and stress field in the continuous dieless drawing process of NiTi shape memory alloy wires were analyzed through the thermo-mechanical coupling simulation. The effects of distance between heater and cooler, cooling water flow-rate and drawing speed on the diameter of wires were investigated. The results were well consistent with the experimental ones.
