    • This paper summarizes the application, review, and award of research funding in the Mining and Metallurgical Engineering discipline at the Department of Engineering and Materials Science of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) in 2022, basing on the following four research fields: petroleum engineering, mining engineering, safety science and engineering, and metallurgy and material processing engineering. A final review investigation and mid-term inspection of relevant projects are presented and next steps of the discipline are proposed as well.
